What is it?

Manchester Metropolitan University

At Manchester Metropolitan University we are the top new university in the UK for the power of our allied health research. We had the seventh largest increase in market share in REF2014 and 100% of the impact of our health research is rated world-leading and internationally excellent. Our Research Centre for Health, Psychology and Communities includes health care, social and social care and social work, and focusses on research that helps people to live well with the conditions they have. We are amongst the world-leaders for musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and speech and language therapy, and have expert groups on ageing, mental health, marginalisation, and stress and performance. Our health science researchers have a focus on developing solutions for fatal conditions such as stroke, heart disease, HIV, diabetes and dementia. We listen to your priorities and we work with you using our expertise to plan, design and implement methodologies and evaluations.

Why do it?

Manchester Metropolitan University

Research has a high value to society, helping to fill gaps in knowledge, inform practice and provide important information about disease trends, risk factors, outcomes of treatment or public health interventions, functional abilities, patterns of care, and health care costs and use. Research can give important insights which help in informing your system leadership and strategy.

The NHS Five Year Forward View sets out clearly the case for major system innovations and ways of working. An evaluation from a University can help you to identify areas for improvement, helping to maximise quality and minimise costs and ultimately will help you realize your goals more efficiently.
