Key Aims

Skills for Care helps to create a well-led, skilled and valued adult social care workforce. We provide practical tools and support to help adult social care organisations in England recruit, develop and lead their workforce.

Support And Resources Available
  • Resources to support recruitment and retention including our ‘Finding and keeping workers’ website, values based recruitment toolkit and seminars

  •  I Care…Ambassadors – frontline care staff trained to go into schools and colleges to talk about working in social care

  •  Think Care Careers interactive website for enquirers and teachers/careers advisors with information on job roles and case studies of people working in adult social care

  •  Resources to support skills and knowledge development and progression on topics including the Care Certificate, Manager Induction Standards, apprenticeships, dementia, mental health and safeguarding

  •  Workforce Development Fund – money available to support staff to complete qualifications

  •  Learning provider directory signposting to endorsed learning providers who have met our quality standards

  •  Provider of national social care leadership development programmes

  •  Expertise in social care workforce challenges, workforce planning and best practice solutions

  •  Support for registered managers through networks and membership

  •  Social care workforce intelligence and data expertise
